WoUtNW

The Word of Until the Next WoUtNW is pastiche.

It is from the same root as pasta and paste, which trace back to Greek words meaning "barley porridge" and before that, "sprinkled with salt". Its modern meanings exhibit only slightly less range, as it can refer to an early stage of pidgin language development, a postmodern drama technique, professional fanfic, or hodge-podges of whatever kind. Closely related to bricolage, which was the other strong contender for this WoUtNW.

(Oh, and in an unrelated note, I hope people actually clicked through on the infographic in this post, "Infographic" as it is almost entirely unreadable at the resolution I got by posting from Flickr. Why Flickr insists on only letting me post at such an unhelpful size is unknown to me.

I tried to do an internal vocabulary lookup for "bricolage" but all I came up with was this.
