Guess what's being advertised

If you read Chinese, don't spoil it for everyone else, although do comment about how much harder it is to read after I performed a simple alteration whose nature is obvious to you but may not be to non-Han-character-readers. If you can't read Chinese, guess what is being advertised in this image, and I'd be curious to know how obvious the nature of the alteration is to you.

I think it's reasonably obvious how it was altered, but I don't know what it's selling. Um, mail order brides?

I'm illiterate in Chinese, but the characters look really wrong. Did you mirror reverse them or something?

The alteration seems obvious. My first guess is that they were selling mail order brides, but now I think they're probably selling refurbished TI-994A computers.

Now that greyautumnrain points it out, it does look mirror-reversed.

I'd guess phone cards.

I have no idea. Nor can I determine the alteration.

I dunno, "feminine products"? There seems to be a rectangle missing in the upper right.

Ironically, the few characters I recognize are virtually unaltered by your alteration. If I were fully literate, my reading speed might be somewhat affected on the other characters, but not by all that much. The low resolution of the picture would be a bigger issue.

I've got no idea what they're advertising, but the whole thing looks flipped left-to-right to me.

Oh hey, yeah, the phone symbol is flipped, so I'm definitely going with mirroring the entire image.

It looks like the kind of ad that gets put up for ice skating shows.

Without reading any of the comments, it looks left-right reversed.
